How to create a Meta API token

Follow the steps below to create a Meta API token.

Steps

We've made this guide extremely detailed, so there are 15 steps, but it should only take 5 minutes to complete.

1. Go to: https://developers.facebook.com/apps/. You may need to log into your Facebook account.
2. Click "Create App".

3. Name the app. We recommend naming it after your company. If you work at an agency, use the agency’s name.

4. Scroll to the very bottom and select "Other"

5. Select "Business"

6. Click "Create app"

7. Go to: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/

8. Under "Meta App", select the app that you just created.

9. Use the "Add a Permission" input field to add the following permissions:
   
   1. ads_management
   2. ads_read
   3. read_insights
   4. pages_show_ list
   5. business_management
   6. instagram_basic
   7. pages_read_ engagement

10. Click "Generate Access Token"

11. A popup will appear. Select "Opt in to all current and future Pages" and click "Continue"

12. Then, select "Opt in to all current and future Businesses" and click "Continue"

13. Then, select "Opt in to all current and future Instagram accounts" and click "Continue"

14. Finally, click "Save"

15. Now, copy the token and paste it into Bigged. The token should look like "EAA...". Don't send this token to anyone or they could access your Facebook accounts.
